Bustos (2023)

This project involved a unique fusion of technology and community engagement on the island of Zorrotzaurre in Bilbao. Utilizing advanced 3D scanning techniques, I captured the distinct likenesses of the local residents, embodying the spirit and diversity of the community. These digital models were then meticulously transformed into tangible artworks through the precision of 3D printing, employing ceramics as the medium of choice.

The project yielded two forms of artifacts: smaller, personal pieces gifted to the participants as a token of their contribution and larger, ceramic heads destined to form a captivating mural. This mural, composed of the community's visages, stands as a testament to the intertwined relationship between modern making techniques and traditional architectural expression, celebrating Zorrotzaurre's unique identity through a blend of art, technology, and architecture
